A refrigerator has a volume given by the trinomial y^3 + 5y^2 – 14y. What are the possible dimensions of the refrigerator? Use factoring

y^3 + 5y^2 - 14y

first factor out a "y"

y(y^2 + 5y - 14)

y(y + 7)(y - 2)

The dimensions are then;
y
y + 7
y - 2
